When is the park open?

The park grounds are open daily, year-round, from 6 am to 10 pm. The Welcome Center is open from 9 am to 6 pm daily. For information on closures and the hours of different sites at the park, click here.

What costs are there?

The only building with an entrance fee is Washington's Headquarters, at a cost of $3.00. The prices of guided tours vary, depending on the tour. For more information on tours, click here.

What is the weather like?

Winters at Valley Forge are cold and damp with a cool spring and fall and a hot and humid summer. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended for outdoor recreation during the snowy winter season.

What kinds of activities and programs can I take part in?

You can bike, hike, ride horses, take tours, explore the museum, watch reenactments, speak with interpreters, and visit the buildings and monuments around the park!  For more information on tours and special events, click here.

Can I bring my pet to the park?

Yes, but all pets must be on a leash and you must clean up after your pet.

What is there to do for the kids?

Every Saturday is Kids Corner, a free event from 11 am- 1 pm in the Welcome Center. Children can learn about history while making a craft to take home. Valley Forge also has a Junior Ranger program. For more information on activities for children, click here.
